Make sure to ask the manufacturers for detailed information about the product and to see the test reports.

The documents that companies need to obtain are ISO 9001, ISO 13485  and AT conformity certificates. İt is also  obligatory to have a CE sertificate.     


2-How to check certificate and test reports.  


The test for medical face mask is evaluated according to the EN 14683 standard. 

The fabric weights that  a mask  should have are as follows: 

It is preffered that the inner and outer layers of the mask are between 15 and 25 gr(usually of spunbond fabric) and the middle layer(filter) is between 25 and 35 gr (usually of meltblown fabric).


3-Classiffication of masks by degree of  protection 


The companies producing  mask have divided their product into three as type I,  type II and type IIR. 

Type I mask is used in daily life. Surgial masks used during  surgery are type IIR. 


4-Mask must be registered in the Product  Tracking System in order to be sold legally.  


If you can’t see any barkode on the mask box, you won’t be able to find the company record  when you search the site.
